Resolved Question: Sports or family outing? ?

The big college football game, PSU-OSU, is Saturday and my girlfriend is going to the local minor league hockey game with her son and a friend at the same time. She says she is ok with me not going to the game, but I feel guilty. Is it ok to pick sports over family time?
