Resolved Question: LSU's 40-31 win at home vs D-II Troy was a great victory?!....am I missing something here?...?

I just want to get everyone's opinion on this. I was just reading through some of the articles on the college football section of Yahoo! Sports, and the thing that shocks me the most about this week's sports "journalism" is that there are multiple articles or little paragraphs talking about how great of a game that was, and how LSU is "playing for pride" and still trying hard even though they have no shot at the SEC championship and how that 28 point comeback signifies that they are still a good team, etc, etc, etc.... ....Wtf!? What am I missing here? LSU trailed 31-3 in "the swamp", & then just barely managed to edge-out Troy (a medicore-to-bad D-II team) in the final minutes of the game, and this is somehow being spun as a great victory? Huh?!... Even this year's 9-2, #3 in the Big Ten Ohio State squad (and we all know how LSU loves to poke fun at OSU) managed to beat Troy 28-10, with OSU never trailing in the game, and absolutely EVERYONE (especially SEC fans) was using that as an excuse to hate on Ohio State & the Big-Ten in general.... What am I missing here? How is a late-4th quarter comeback from a 28 point defecit to TROY @ Louisiana a victorious triumph for the mightly Tigers? If that would have happened to any other 'Big Six' team in the nation (even an ACC team or Pac-10 team), it would have been written the next day as proof that that conference is garabage...but when it happens to the defending national champ & currently #3 in the SEC Tigers, it's an awesome victory worth throwing a parade over.... ....what am I missing here? Is this simply more SEC media bias, or did Troy gain some sort of huge national respect in the last few weeks that I'm unaware of? Why are games like this held against every other "Big Six" conference but simultaneously used by the media to promote "SEC dominance?" I don't get it.... ....any thoughts? Correction, 'satcom' is right, Troy is a mid-major team. This doesn't alter my argument & confusion in any way though.... ...and please ignore my occasional spelling mistakes above, I typed that question at work extremely quickly. Pitt blows...sorry dude. So does the entire Big East by the way. This is probably why Pitt is scared to renew the rivalry between PSU Nittany Lions & the Pittsburg Kittens anytime soon...... Read More »
